Once I start, what can I expect in terms of activities, progress, etc.? |
|
Classes generally flow through warm-up, technique development, pattern practice and sparring in the course of an hour. Despite this basic formula, each class is unique as different elements are focused on, the class is broken up into different groups and different seniors share their expertise.
Progression and development is symbolized through Tae Kwon-Do color belts. There are a total of ten levels to progress through prior to achieving a Black Belt and students are offered the opportunity to participate in a color belt promotion test each quarter. The pace of progression is a combination of the student's desire to advance to a higher level and their ability to demonstrate the skills needed to advance. |

What is unique about Pathways Tae Kwon-Do? |
|
Pathways Tae Kwon-Do is part of the Universal Tae Kwon-Do Federation (UTF), an organization that was founded by Grandmaster Han Cha Kyo, who was instrumental in the development of modern Tae Kwon-Do. A key element of our training is control and, to achieve that end, sparring is conducted in a full power, but non-contact manner. It sharpens focus and discipline while fostering the development of both community and self. This also removes the barriers for students of different ages, sizes, strengths, abilities, etc. to work together in a learning environment. |
